The Collaborative for Health Arts and Civic Transformation

Our mission

The Collaborative uses the arts as a catalyst to advance health equity and civic transformation — partnering with historically underserved populations, educational institutions and cross-sector partners to develop community-led solutions.

Our approach

How we work

Community Centered

We start by listening, and build with the communities affected rather than for them.

Equity Driven

We focus on the barriers that keep some communities in worse health than others.

Arts as Catalyst

Creative work gives people a way to say what they are dealing with, and to be heard.

Shared Power

We aim to be clear about what we are doing, and answerable to the people we work with.

The arts in practice

Work on the walls

We are still early, and building with partners as we go.

If you work in health, education, the arts or civic life in Greater Houston, we would like to hear from you.
